Speeder, poser, dater
In recent years, the NRW police have increasingly focused on combating illegal motor vehicle racing. In Duisburg, too, so-called speeders, posers and daters have repeatedly attracted negative attention. They are mostly young adults who meet up in the evening with their heavily motorized vehicles and want to show off.

The so-called "speeders and posers" receive strong encouragement from local people, the so-called "daters", and feel vindicated in their imposing behavior. By disregarding the traffic rules, in particular by taking part in illegal motor vehicle races, these people not only endanger themselves, but also other road users. Prohibited motor vehicle racing has already led to serious injuries and deaths throughout Germany. In some of these cases, courts have already handed down murder sentences!

What many people don't know: the offence of §315d StGB - prohibited motor vehicle racing - can also be committed by a single road user. This does not require a "competitor" with whom you want to compete.

In addition to punishable traffic violations, so-called "speeders, posers and daters" are regularly responsible for disturbing the peace of local residents at night and littering their meeting places. The consequences of their own actions are quickly forgotten or simply ignored.

With this campaign, we want to reach this target group and educate them about the consequences of their actions. The police cannot and will not tolerate such behavior and will consistently punish it.

In addition to the penalties due, participation in illegal motor vehicle races in particular regularly results in the confiscation of the driver's license and the vehicle used!
