Scammers make victims fear a burglary or other crime where their assets are at risk. They cleverly trick their victim into handing over money and jewelry to an alleged police officer. The police number 110 often appears on the display as a result of manipulation. When the real police call, the number 110 never appears, not even with the area code.

How to behave correctly:

• Does the 11 appear on the display? - Hang up
• Are you being asked for money or valuables? - Hang up
• Are you asked to be discreet? - Hang up
• Does the caller want to connect you to 110? - Hang up
• Very important: Always hang up yourself and then dial 110 yourself!
